Guest guest
Hello. As many of you are aware, the APTA Animal Rehabilitation Special Interest Group sponsored educational programming and held its annual business meeting (as well as OTHER meetings) at the APTA Combined Sections Meeting just this past week. In discussions regarding legislation that exists presently and that is/has been proposed regarding the regulation of the practice of physical therapy for animals by physical therapy professionals, the topic of education regarding zoonoses and infectious diseases was discussed. We thought, " What better way to focus the topic than to ask veterinarians and veterinary technicians who work in animal rehabilitation WHAT zoonoses and infectious diseases physical therapists should be aware of (and educated in) prior to working with horses, dogs, and cats? " Feel free to reply to this list or to email me directly off list regarding your thoughts on this topic. Thanks so much.
