This email is an informational post for those in TX only - please do not

reply.

Please take a few minutes to voice your opinion to the Texas Senate

Education Committee regarding Senate Bill 1000. SB 1000 was introduced on

February 28 to create an Autism Services Accessibility Program (ASAP) in TX.

SB 1000 is a unique bill written specifically for the state of Texas. SB

1000 will allow families the flexibility to locate the public schools or

accredited private schools that best meet the educational needs of their

child with autism. You can view the bill at

<http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/BillLookup/Text.aspx?LegSess=80R & Bill=SB1000

> & Bill=SB1000. In the next few weeks, the Committee will be meeting and

hearing testimony from constituents on this bill. You can find phone and

email contact information for each of the 9 committee members at

www.texasautismscholarships.com/alerts.php#SenateCommittee.

If you are in support of the bill, please visit the Texas Parents for Autism

Scholarships (TPAS) website at www.texasautismscholarships.com

If you are opposing the bill, but would still like to see improvements in

autism education, please also provide your suggestions and solutions to the

Committee members.

Thank you! Kim
