Guest guest
You all had wonderful points in what is going on in my husbands mind... it was so wonderful to hear from a man's perspective as well ... thanks so much! I did do all the research and I have taken all the anxiety and stress of the situation on myself... I am mildly OCD, so I know what my son is going through... but his is much worse and started much earlier. I am so scared... he goes back to school tomorrow. I wrote a to the point and polite letter to the principal and school psychologist tonight requesting testing for an iep... I also said in the letter that they are aware that there are numerous students like who are not as developed at this time in their social skills or ability to handle unsupervised situations for long periods of time and hopefully that in the best interest of the students they will create a " safe Place " for them during unstructured events such as recess.... I kind of wanted to put the school on notice that they know what is going on with more than just my child and it's time to step up.... I know, I know.. I am probably blowing hot air... but it's out ther now... and to boot, I was very polite. I have found an OCD support group for children and their families... I am going to take my son to the meeting next week... I am really excited.... I am hoping I can talk my husband into coming along so he can see the " types " of people that live with OCD.... I will definitely utilize all of your strategies.... thanks so much for the kind response!!! Vicki Elk Grove, CA
