Guest guest
, we live in a small city so maybe it was easier for me to find. Our hospital has an OT and PT place and I told neurologist that's where I wanted to go. The neuro we saw was in another city about 40 min away and he had someone there in mind. The OT would update him every so often...90 days? and neuro would renew the order for OT. got OT for a bit over a year. At first we saw them frequently and then down to once a month. They don't really need to work on the OCD but maybe understand it if there are things at therapy that OCD might affect. Like if he worries about germs, then handling some item there might bother him unless it's cleaned first. For OT, I wouldn't worry about accommodating the OCD while there, just clean the item so he can do the therapy. The OTs we used all worked with kids too. You might ask around for one that works with kids and is skilled in helping with sensory problems. I knew had some sensory issues (smells, food texture, didn't like swinging much...) and they found more than I knew about. They said working on the " whole body " would help with the writing too so that's what they did. Didn't help the OCD but did help him overall. It was weeks before they even had him work on writing. > > Hi > When you lined up your OT, did you use the one the Dr. recommended. If not > how did you go about choosing one?
