Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I don't post much but thought I would just share this with you all & see if you can offer any ideas as well. Thanks to I have lost 30 lbs since January & am in a size 4!!! I am still reeling from that shopping trip on Sunday & can't believe it. Anyway, my DH & I have been eating healthier & not going out to eat much anymore. Sometimes we feel the NEED to have those old meals. Saturday for instance was one of them. After a 6 mile walk & an hour of eliptical at the gym for another 5 miles we were both exhausted when it came time for dinner. (This isn't a typical day for us just worked out this way) With 3 kids on top of this I was in NO way wanting to cook. So I started naming things that sounded good. After all we have been so great with our choices what the heck let's splurge! We ended up with a Godfather's taco pizza... and monkey bread! Oh my! Of course then the next day as we are out & about shopping we decided to go to Red Robin. I made good choices, omitting the mayo & substituting whole wheat bun & chicken instead of beef. But oh yes I had the fries & forgot to say no salt please. The verdict, I felt a bit sick after the pizza. I did feel fine after the chicken sandwich, but the next day... OY VAY. I was hungry the whole day on Monday & again on Tuesday. It literally took two days to clean out the (excuse the expression) crap I had put in my body. So now we are trying to figure out what can we do when we have the NEED to Cheat? Or when we are exhausted & don't feel like cooking? Do we really want to spend the following week working out the CHEAT we so desperately needed? I had an idea to do up some putanesca sauce & noodles in the freezer for those exhausting days. I wanted to see if any of you have ideas? What do you do? We are a family of 5 so it is difficult to say it's smoothie night or fend for yourselves little ones... LOL. The only healthy to go food is spring rolls or subway. Sure wish food chains would get healthier for all of us. So let me know what tricks you have up your sleeves. I will definately hold onto this experience for the next time to imagine how I will feel hours/days after having whatever it is I crave or THINK I need. Hopefully by the time that happens I will be more prepared to make those healthy choices so I don't feel so terrible physically afterwards. Here's to great health & happiness!
