Guest guest
The Minnesota Early Autism Project (MEAP) is a newly formed treatment provider in the Twin Cities metropolital area. MEAP provides in-home Intensive Early Behavior Therapy (IEBT) services for children with an autism spectrum disorder, ages 0-6. Behavior analytic principles and techniques are integrated with developmental and language instruction principles as the fundamental underpinnings of the program. MEAP treatment uses a combination of discrete trial training, natural environment or incidental teaching, pivotal response training, verbal behavior strategies, preference assessment, errorless learning, prompting, shaping and fading, behavior management strategies, play scripts, picture schedules and peer modeling. The specific techniques employed vary form child to child according to need. MEAP's treatment is directed by Dr. , MEAP's Licensed Psychologist, and Ms. Barsness, M.S., MEAP's Clinic Director, both of whom have extensive experience providing ABA treatment to children with autism and their families. Dr. is a highly respected psychologist, licensed in the state of MN, who has worked with individuals with autism and other disabilites for over 40 years. Dr. is has written numerous books and articles and conducts workshops on autism-related issues, both in Minnesota and nation-wide. Ms. Barsness has a Masters degree in ABA and has provided services to children and families with autism for over 12 years in Minnesota, nationwide and the UK. MEAP currently has openings for BCBS of MN or private pay families. We are in the process of becoming certified to accept Medical Assistance reimbursement and hope to be able to provide services to these families as well in the near future! If you would like more information on MEAP services, contact Barsness directly at lbarsness@... <mailto:lbarsness@...> or at the MEAP office (763)493-7935.
