Does anyone know what this would cover? ABA?

We have a similar law here in land. It requires Habilitative

services for children be covered " to the same extent " as

Rehabilitative. It includes multiple disabilities and was amended

specifically to include Autism.

Sadly it helps very few. Most large employers (and Fed, state,

municipal) are self-insured and are exempt thru ERISA. This excludes

about 1/2 of insured landers. Most true insurance use the " same

extent as rehab " to limit all coverage to say 12 visits a year (I've

know it to be as low as 6).

Lastly ABA is " experimental " and not covered in even for those covered

by the law. Here you may get some SLP because an SLP has a state

license, but a BCBA does not.

You need specific wording to not allow limits and to cover ABA.

Hope it passes, but don't get your hopes up too much. It's been tried

before. The only case I know of that may really work is CA's

Lanterman Act.
