Guest guest
Greetings, Maybe this is news you can use--please forward this if you know anyone who might be concerned or interested in these issues. 1. I have temporarily set up a page with licensing and BACB recognition status in different states (if you have updated information for your state, please send it to me and I will post it). There is also some info on what APA Division 12 considers evidence for empirically evidenced treatments, AND the projects of ABA Internationals Professional Affairs Council/PAC, per last year's ABA newsletter if you missed reading it. http://verbalbehavior.pbwiki.com/Licensing-of-Behavior-Analysts 2. An announcement of the PAC meeting at ABA San Diego that you might consider attending if you have concerns, question or comment about legislation, recognition of the certification, licensing, etc. Here is the information on the date and time of this event: #209 Panel Discussion 5/27/2007 (Sunday) 1:30 PM - 2:20 PM Randle E OTH/TPC; Applied Behavior Analysis The Professional Affairs Committee of ABA: The Work We Do Chair: R. Zarcone (University of Rochester Medical Center) SUZANNE LETSO (Connecticut Center for Child Development) MICHAEL WEINBERG (Professional Education Resources and Conference Services) THOMAS L. ZANE (The Evergreen Center and The Center for Applied Behavior Analysis at The Sage Colleges) Abstract: The mission of the Professional Affairs Committee of ABA is to focus on the practice of behavior analysis, including certification, continuing education, code of ethics, practice standards, legislation and public policy, and all other issues important to the research and practice of behavior analysts. This meeting is to present the work of the PAC over the past year and solicit issues important to ABA members. I hope you can be there to participate in this forum to find out what the PAC is working on, to state your opinions and to move forward the interests of behavior analysts (and consumers of behavior analytic services).
