Well, its been another week of bed wetting.

He started Lexapro, but I think its much too soon to see improvement...we're

on day 5( 5mg).

He had his first appt with therapist Wednesday, it went well as far as I

know, as it was just the 2 of them.

I did get some answers out of him this time regarding the wetting though, he

said its the remote that's getting him stuck in bed. He has to push it a

certain number of times/or until it feels right before he can go to the

bathroom, then its too late.

Since he's only doing this in his room, have decided to remove the TV for

now. We don't want it to feel like a punishment, but I'm drained from all the

extra laundry! We had considered only taking the remote, but he has the same

problem with his PS2 controller. Anything with buttons is getting him stuck.

So for now....think its best.

Hope that med. kicks in soon.

Hi, . It took at least a week before we noticed anything, and

then it was not a lot, just a little shift. From there it just got

gradually better. But, there were up and down times also, during that

time, before things finally stablilized. So, I would guess it's still

a bit early to see anything. Gosh, those days seem to drag by though.

It's good you figured out what is causing him to get stuck, .

Then the therapist can fashion an exposure to try to help him overcome

it.

I bet doing all that extra laundry is getting old. :o/ I feel for you.

Hi , had problems with the TV remote too. For a while,

the rest of us had to change channels for him. He wouldn't even

try. Yes, it got on my nerves after a while for him to call me, I'd

go see what he wanted and it was to change a channel! And he wasn't

allowed to turn the computer on/off either. He was still playing

video games back then, I don't know that he got " stuck " playing them

but I (and ) noticed he did seem to repeat some things (have

character repeat) or push buttons more than needed.

Glad he was able to tell you the problem, and hopefully will help him

get to the bathroom now!

Keep us updated on the therapist, is the next appt soon?

Awwwww, , whine away. You are in a good place to do it, if you

feel inclined. We've all done it at times. Nothing easy about OCD,

that's for sure. It has the potential to bring you to your knees.

That's where I often pray anyway, and have done a lot of it while I

was down there.

Yikes, I'm with you. .. Put that expensive bedding away until he gains

a victory over the wetting.

Glad you are doing weekly therapy now. Hoping you see some good

results soon.

I definitely would keep as much off the bed as possible until he can get over

this problem.  The less washing you

have to do, the better because this is a LOT of work for you!  Another thought

I have for you is to not let him be in his bed unless he is

actually closing his eyes and going to sleep.  I would take out the tv and

anything else that adds time to his being in bed.  He needs

to appreciate the enormous toll this is taking on you, and not having the tv in

his bedroom is one way to make him more motivated to earn

it back by overcoming this problem.  I have found with my daughter that the

right motivation makes it easier for her to fight an OCD fear.

Hi BJ, gosh its been a long 2 weeks.

He switches to 10 mg in a couple of days....I sure hope it kicks in soon.

Of all the things.....this is the hardest to deal with.

the laundry....killing my back, and of course the weather's bad, so I'm

having to do all this with a pounding migraine. ice storm coming in

tonight.....yippee..... :(

Just to wash his linens.......4 loads, plus all the extra undies and

PJ's.......this old lady... is worn out.

I'm worried about his quilt and shams, I may not give them back for a while.

they were 400.00, and are hand quilted, they just cant take all this

washing, I just bought them this past summer, Id like them to last at least a

year.

;)

Thanks for listening to me whine ;)
