Guest guest
Hi Silvia, What is the diet of your horse? What grains is your dog on? I am concerned there might be a correlation between navicular disease and gluten sensitivity with horses as I talked with a vet from The Vet school of Helsinki in Finland. They are working on a study showing a correlation with their diets and sensitivity to grains. Sensitive horses have a hard time tolerating grains with gluten such as wheat, barley, rye, processed oats, bran and spelt. Read the website of Symens, DVM at www.dogtorJ.com and you will be surprised what he has found. I listened to him at the recent American Holistic Veterinarian Medical Association. AHVMA and he is amazing regarding subject. He and I are seeing musculoskeletal disorders in relationship to the inflammatory response to gluten in the body. A great book to read is: Dangerous Grains from Braly, MD and you will be blown away. Injections are great and give temporally a relief, but doesn't resolve the underlying reason for the disease. Just my input as we are having more trouble with our friends and their diet we are feeding them. Sincerely, Kortekaas PT www.fullspectrumcaninetherapy.com Sarapin Has anyone used this product for chronic pain? My horse recently received these shots as a last ditch effort to keep her more comfortable during our brutal winter. She has chronic navicular, she gets the whole dose of regular treatment but we were noticing pain still an issue. The studies I have looked up all don't report any benefit, but I know with alternative health care there is often not enough studies done. So I was wondering what clinically people have found. I do think it has made a difference, it is now 1 week post injections. Silvia Lavallee BMR PT www.geocities.com/animal_rehabilitation Send e-mail faster without improving your typing skills.
