I guess it differs by location.  Here you can get the services through your

local school district, and she could get some behavioral therapy, a la ABA, from

them as well.

P.S. -- can't recall if I said this before. Here in NC, the autism

diagnosis will get you help through " developmental disability " type

services. But it won't get " mental health " services. For mental

health services, need the ADHD or other type diagnoses added on. They

have to bill insurance with dx that fits under the service provided.

I would research your local DD services and see what is provided in

your area. Could be a waiting list, but generally services are VERY

helpful once you get in the DD program.

Thank you all for your replies. Ahh, to live in the USA for autism

services anyway, is a far cry from where I live which is in the UK,

where my boy is entitled to zip, nada, nothin cause he is not in

school. Hasnt had OT in almost 2 years, same for Speech therapy

(which was crap anyway).

My boy doesnt mind non routine, we never had one, i can walk in and

turn the tv off and there is no problem, but with some things he does

have a bit of a calamity.

as some of you said, its really like walking a fine line. I am going

to try the inositol again. used this before but maybe didnt give it

long enough.

cut my boys hair today but noticed he was still trying to pull.

thank you for all the responses
