My son started in with a severe onset of " bad thoughts " at age 4.11.I can pinpoint the exact day and time, it was so sudden. He was in a constant state of panic, and just continued spilling out his " bad thoughts " . I took him to a psychiatrist and they diagnosed him with OCD, and put him on Prozac. He had his tonsils out 3 months prior to this onset, and had strep throat, 3 weeks before the onset. My son is now 7, and whenever he is on antibiotics for any reason, his OCD symptoms improve. He is on Abilify(5mg) and Luvox(12.5mg) I metnioned all of this to his psychiatrist, who agreed that this all sounded like PANDAS, and he had his titers checked. They came back normal. They were checked during a time he did not have strep. Therfore the doctor said he couldn't have PANDAS because the titers would be constantly elevated. Through research I have done, I have found this is not always the case. Could you verify this for me?
