Guest guest
I was reading a report on asthma while sitting in the doctors office after my attack I had, and the doctor said that would be a great idea, they gave me epinephrine the night I had my severe attack to bring me around. I'll have to see if I can find the report on here and I'll send it to the group.

Guest guest
What a small world …I live in burg, PA….I just got back from Hershey a few minutes ago. From: mrslentz@... Sent: Saturday, February 12, 2005 2:19 PM To: asthma Subject: Re: New Here I go to Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. I live right outside of Hershey, PA. I too have 2 nebulizers, the Omron portable one and a home one. And have been on prednisone too many times to count. They can't tell me what triggered such a bad attack that night, and I don't remember much of anything, just feeling like I was dying, and I even said I was dying then I blacked out. I'm not afraid of going out or anything, the thing for me was I didn't know what triggered it, so that scared me. They said it could of been something I ate, or something that just bothered me. I know my asthma gets a lot worse with my allergies. And with cleaning products, and of course animals, which I have enough of, but now I have my " safe " zones in the house where I can go, and they don't bother me 90% of the time anyway, just when I'm having one of those days. I'm hoping to learn alot being here, and maybe find something I can ask my doctor for to improve my asthma. Question. How many of you have to carry around an Epi-pen in case you have a severe asthma attack?

Guest guest
Hi Wanda, For me the Advair is the only thing that seemed to help my asthma. I started on the mid strength dose and am supposed to be on the strongest dose (500/50), but got some freebies of the 250/50, plus it kind of scares me now to take it after reading the side effects and what happend to me in November. I heard that they want to take it off the market but haven't seen anything else on it.
Guest guest
They said they would like it taken off the market do to the one drug that makes up Advair causing deaths in some people. And after reading the side effects and what happend to me I can see why. But I to have only been helped by Advair so I have such mixed feelings. Guest guest
I hope like heck they don't take Advair off the market! It's been the ONLY thing that has helped my son. He takes the 500/50, too. I've never heard anything about them taking it off the market. But I will be finding out! LOL Hope everybody is doing well...and Happy Valentines Day! Guest guest
I also take Advair 500/50, I haven't heard anything about them taking it off the market. Hope they don't, I'm finally getting almost off the pred and do not want to start back with it in high doses. --- In asthma , Tonya Stoll <tstoll@i...> wrote: >

Guest guest
Wanda, you make me realise how lucky I am to live in the UK, our health service has it's problems but I get whatever medicines I need. I pay for a special prescription card £90 annually( $169 US)and that covers all medicines I need. Sometimes I have up to 10 items on my prescription. Today I phoned my primary care doctor to ask her for a repeat of Spiriva which does seem to suit me, she wrote out the request which my son took straight to the pharmacy and within 3 hours I had 2 months supply of Spiriva. We all pay a tax each month called National insurance which has a contribution towards our Health Service, this has to be better than doing without a medicine that helps you. Hope you get this sorted out soon. The Advair question is scary, haven't taken that one but I have had bad experience recently with Symbicort inhaler which seems to have made me far worse, lost my voice and had some bad attacks on it, have stopped it and improved immediately. Just shows no medicine is safe 100 per cent Regards from June in London > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >

Guest guest
I've also read that the one drug that is causing the problem only does so if it is not taken with the other one. But I don't know how true this is. I don't know what problem you had with Advair, but I'm sure it makes you wonder. --- In asthma , mrslentz@a... wrote: > They said they would like it taken off the market do to the one drug that > makes up Advair causing deaths in some people.
