Guest guest Posted December 5, 2006 Report Share Posted December 5, 2006 Intensive Skill Building Aide Job Description 1:1 DESCRIPTION: The STAR Intensive Skill Building Program is designed to provide 1:1 staffing for children who need a more individualized schedule and more intensive staffing support to participate in the STAR Program, Inc. It is intended to offer intensive support to a child for up to six months in preparation to continue with STAR using less intensive staffing. REQUIREMENTS: This position requires at least an Associate Arts degree in psychology or a related area. In addition, experience working with children is desired. This position involves at least 7-12 hours per week depending on the age group served. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILTIES: 1. Collecting frequency data for designated training goals during the STAR Program and providing your site manger with completed data sheets on a weekly basis. 2. Participation in setting up program materials, putting away program materials, cleaning up program space (6:00-6:30pm) and meeting with the Program Site Manager to summarize data and discuss client problems during program delivery. 3. Knowledge of each child's Behavioral Intervention Plan and ability to implement the plan appropriately. 4. Attendance of a staff meeting once a week where behavioral intervention plans and other program issues can be reviewed and discussed. 5. Review of New Staff Orientation DVD, PART training (12 hours), and a quarterly in-service training for STAR staff. 6. Participation in the delivery of monthly community outings during the STAR Program time at locations throughout San Diego. 7. Participation in the completion of Behavioral Incident reports and/or Client Injury reports within 24 hours of the incident with the Program Site Manager. 8. Familiarity and compliance with STAR Program Policies and Procedures regarding requests for time off and participation in finding coverage. COMPENSATION: The Intensive Skill Building Aide position is compensated at a rate of $10.50 an hour during the 90 day probationary training period. Following successful completion of the probationary period and supervisory review, hourly rate will increase to $12 an hour.
