I to like to know where peoples are from so can maybe we for a time sign off with what state we to be from like of this. Guest guest Posted September 25, 2004 Report Share Posted September 25, 2004 Hi Sondra, We are in Southeastern Ohio, my name is Jane and I have a daughter Jenna who turned 16 in August and was diagnosed with Autism at age 3. I found this site a few weeks ago, and have really been fascinated with what has been posted here. I can see that it is a great resource and comfort to people that have autism and/or have a family member with Autism. Jenna does well verbally she is just not to interested in being social, she has always been an easy child with little behavior problems so we are lucky in that respect. I always feel as if she just " lives in the moment " of whatever she is doing. She is usually happy, but I often find myself feeling like I wish I knew what she was thinking about. My focus with her now is finding job skills that are meaningul to her ,and getting her to be as independant as she can be and of course keeping her safe. She still struggles with some hygeine issues EG: showering, cutting nails etc. etc. Still has to be prompted to do these things. She love TV, stuffed animals, and computer games. Guest guest Posted December 18, 2008 Report Share Posted December 18, 2008 Since lots of parents here have so much knowledge, thought I'd ask. Anyone familiar with Borderline Personality Disorder? Was mentioned as an " iffy " diagnosis for another son of mine. If so, could you email me privately? Some of BPD fits in what I've read but some doesn't.
