My son threw a heavy hole puncher at my head in June and I had to get three staples. If that wasn't enough, the next day he refused to get on a plane for NY (we live in NC) and went into a rage. In a way, all of that was good because it showed me he had to be hospitalized for observation. He was diagnosed with a thought disorder and put on Risperdal, which has been working well--no more rages. However, this ocd stuff was not seen in the hospital--is has gotten much worse in the past two weeks. He confesses every little thing he does to us--every second and it's unbearable. He has been on Prozac 10mg for three weeks now but I see no change. I saw post to you about it maybe taking longer to kick in, so I'll try and be patient. It is so frustrating--it seems like for every one step ahead, it's two steps back. anyway, just wanted to tell you that I can totally relate. Guest guest
Joei does this also during the day until she sees me! Lol Oh the joy! Haha Right now her bestie is here and I can just see everything working up in Joei. She gets very impulsive and you can see an energy build up in her. I have tried to calm her down in the past, but it just doesn't work. I explained to her that I noticed the symptoms become pretty bad after this type of behavior and that I am going to tell her one time that she needs to calm down a bit, after that it is up to her. I'm hoping that she will start to get in tune with her body, mind and feelings and learn when she needs to pull back a bit. She hasn't listened tonite, so we will see how things go when her buddy leaves. I guess she will have to learn by experience. _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Sent: Tuesday, October 28, 2008 7:34 PM To: Subject: [sPAM] Re: five year old son started on Zoloft Holding back at school and elsewhere and then letting it " go " at home, I know I asked more than once (his OCD began in 6th grade) WHY can't he just " hold back " at home too!?! LOL! No answer from him of course. However, even when people were at the house, he could hold back around them (amazing!) and then when company left, would seem to burst with all the OCD he held back. (Eden, NC) > > HI. Guest guest
I felt like barring visitors to the house at one time. But didn't. > > Joei does this also during the day until she sees me!
