Guest guest
Sorry, but I have to agree on this one! Can we all remember how alone and desperate we felt when our LO's were told they had this disease? Trying to find some kind of support, information, prognosis. What lay ahead for all involved. Desperation for some kind of help! Remember back to that time of diagnosis. We all grab onto some kind of support, family, friends, clergy, faith, STRENGTH!!!! We were faced with the unknown. That is where some of our new members are at at this time. We are here for you. We have allll been there at one time or another! Debbie C. Guest guest
I have to agree with what Eve is saying here. I am not a Catholic, but rather Methodist, and I found 's posting to be very informative and reassuring. If I were , I would have sincerely appreciated it and found comfort in it as well. As individuals we may not always agree with the context of every posting, and if you don't like it, then like Eve said, hit the delete key and move on, but in a group setting, that very item you don't like, could very well be a savior to someone else, and in this forum, we owe that opportunity to everyone in this group. Just my two cents. to Clear DayAn Email from Eve living on the beautiful Columbia and Yakima Rivers: Come on Mai-Liis - lighten up! wrote a letter and stated she was Catholic and was crying out asking why God would do this to her Dad. answered her as another Catholic and I believe appreciated it. did not write anything bad or vulgar or depressive. Just use your delete button if you disagree with how one person is answering another person's question or cry for help. That is what I do because it is kind of like those two, or maybe more, are talking to each other. We are here to help each other in a positive way are we not? Guest guest
Can a good health insurance plan just drop you if your claims increase? What is everyone's experience when going on tx with a "supposedly" good health insurance plan? FEM To Personally I enjoyed your comments, everyone has different opinions and its okay. Guest guest
I am Canadian, and I have hep c so no insurance company will except coverage for me unless I want to pay and arm and leg and then they won't cover a pre-existing disease. We don't have to pay for doctors or hospitals, medical test though. If you call the drug company they have a CARE department and will usually supply you with your drugs if you can't afford to pay yourself. That is what I did and I know US has the same thing. Guest guest
Hi . I wish I had some great suggestions for you to use, but one of my sons had a hitting problem that I never " cured. " Now he never hit me...that I can recall right now...but he did hit and he would throw things at times (like TV remote). He was a teen before it got better. It was like it was just some quick, impulsive act. Yes he got punished, lectured.... If I'd found something that worked, I'd have had him out of the habit by age 4 or 5! And he didn't like " no " for an answer either. And he could be relentness with wanting to know " why " the answer is " no " and wear you down. His wasn't OCD related though. Now my , who has OCD, is a quiet, no-temper type. But he began to show a temper (verbally) with his OCD. So I can certainly see where someone who is more physically impulsive or " reactive " can lash out due to OCD. I've actually thought more than once I was " lucky " it was him with OCD and not either of my other 2 sons who are more " physical " and " emotional " in reactions, etc. I will say that used to get sooooo excited about Christmas and hoping (or knowing) he was getting a particular present, it was normal for him to throw up Christmas a.m. And his OCD could increase too in weeks before. I read the other parents' thoughts/suggestions, and can't come up with anything new to add but do keep us updated!!! Maybe somehow it might work out with your mom there to see his outbursts?? (yes, let's all pray...) > > Yes, I think Josiah's issues are exacerbated by the fact that I am paralyzed and cannot physically drag him to time out etc. I am pretty creative though and come up with other ways to handle it. I am wondering from the others of you that have children that rage and become violent, is it generally ocd or something else? Just wondering. > > > Walk by Faith
Guest guest
Thanks for all the ideas and support. I really do think it helped my mom just to see how very different he was today as opposed to Christmas Eve. We have been working on a book called When Tempers Flare and I think I'll use the time of Christmas break to get back to it. I'll keep you posted.
