Guest guest
I had to laugh at this! Joei was really having a night yesterday I think. She was very clingy. Everytime I would sit somewhere, she would eventually come over and pretty much plop right down on top of me. I am pretty sure there was some OCD going on and I was part of it's evil fun -- she had " the look. " It was exhausting for me because I felt smothered and suffocated. I need a mommy break! lol I tried to be nice about it but I finally had to be forceful when I told her she needed to go to the other couch (this was after a couple of hours of this) and let me breathe. She told me.... I am just trying to cherish me and you need to cherish me back! Sigh hahaha ~~Kathy Courage is not living without fear. I love my kid too, but I'll tell you some days...cherish is not the word I'd use, trade in comes to mind... Seriously, despite all the grief, it is wonderful to see the evolution of an individual and be part of the whole growth experience. I see glimmers of maturity all the time, and that is encouraging. We'll get there. Barb --- Change settings via the Web (Yahoo! ID required) Change settings via email: Switch delivery to Daily Digest | Switch format to Traditional Visit Your Group | Yahoo! Guest guest
Hahaaaaa I sooooo needed to read this today. I'm giving mine her anxiety meds and shipping her off to the skating rink for a couple of hours with the instructions.... You WILL survive and you WILL stay for the whole session! lol Then I am coming home, laying on my couch and watching the Caribbean Cops marathon! ~~Kathy Courage is not living without fear. Teens certainly challenge, but can also surprise. The OCD part just makes the parental tangle that much more complicated for both I think. They push us away as they cling, or something like that - need us but don't want to need us. I find ours makes a full time occupation of observing me so he knows just what zinger to throw and when for a full eruption. I have made the decision not to disappoint! Sometimes neutral is just boring, mine seems to be lacking in excitement, so I'm happy to oblige. Parenting it so much fun..... Hugs!
