Guest guest
Dear Fellow List Members, I am forwarding Dan's response to my email about his concerns in giving advice by email and his concerns about liability issues with reference to his participation. I am also including a copy of the file that addresses his participation which is sent to new members upon approval of their membership. " Dear List Members, A. Geller, M.D., Director, Pediatric Physcopharmacology and OCD, McLean Hospital, Harvard Medical School, is an advisor to our list and will answer questions from list members about psychopharmacology and OCD. Dr. Geller's responses to questions are based on his experience and are not intended as prescriptive advice for patients that he has never seen. To ask a question place the words " Ask Dr. Geller " in the subject line of your post to the list. Dr. Geller's answers will become part of the archives of the and will be helpful to all members. Take care. Louis louisharkins@... " It is my hope that this exchange of ideas will help us all understand the nature of Dr. Geller's participation in our list community. Take care. Guest guest
Louis, Even though I don't think I have ever asked a direct question of any of the list Dr's, (Maybe I have?) I find it comforting to know that they are there for advice at least to steer us in the right direction. Even after dealing with OCD in my DD for 6 years, I know that her psychiatrist doesn't " get it. " I know that the Dr's on this list do. There is such a lack of understanding of OCD in the psychiatric community as well as our school communities. I hope that he continues to advise as best as he can. We all appreciate his service. Guest guest
I second Dina's thoughts. Nice to have someone who knows OCD research and meds and understands OCD. > > Louis, > > Even though I don't think I have ever asked a direct question of any of > the list Dr's, (Maybe I have?) Guest guest
Ditto - Ditto -Ditto!!! When we didn't know which end was up with the harming thoughts our son had, Dr Geller was able to cut through the confusion for us and give us a degree of clarity and alleviate some of my concerns. His " expert " advise is so valued. As and Dina say, not many of us here have access to doctors who really understand OCD. Please continue to answer in any manner that you feel comfortable with. Personally I will take anything you can give, and thank you for it. Warm regards, Barb > > I second Dina's thoughts.
