Guest guest
It's been a couple of days since I've been on here. Hi to everyone new. I've only been here a couple of weeks and its helped so much. My ds age 9 has TS and just started with ocd this summer. My dh also has ocd. We found a great book on Amazon--- What to Do When Your Brain Gets Stuck: A Kid's Guide to Overcoming OCD by Dawn Huebner and Bonnie s. My son is really enjoying it. It really explains OCD in an easy to understand way and it breaks it down in easy to manage chapters. My son is really responding to it and it seems to be helping. But the exciting thing is that my dh is reading it and finding it helpful. Most of the adult books can be heavy and boring and he won't read them--I have a bunch. He even opened up at my son's therapist appointment more and didn't get upset when I talked about his OCD at the appointment. This is huge! There are a couple of more books in the series--about worrying, anger, bedtime.
