Twins and/or Family History

Just some wondering/curiousity. With Louis being a twin, Jordana

having twins, my son a twin with OCD, I got to wondering

about this and just genetics & heredity in general.

My twins aren't identical. And look nothing alike, wouldn't know

they were in the same family. Totally different in personaltiy,

nothing in common.

, with OCD, also has Aspergers Syndrome. is extremely

smart (no genius, but compared to the rest of the family, we consider

him one, LOL). All my sons are smart, just seems smarter.

His twin, , is seeing a psychiatrist on his own, began that in

college. He felt he had social anxiety and maybe depression. He's

just not the type that is outgoing and laughs a lot, or whatever.

Felt he didn't seem to be having as much fun and talk as much as the

others at college, etc. Just not happy. (His older brother feels he

needs to drink and " loosen up " , sigh) He's takes medication but not

daily.

Anyway, as to me, I've fought depression my whole life I feel. (that

and self-esteem and a few other things) Luckily not as bad as some

who can't function, but still I tend to go through it fairly easily &

sometimes frequently. And this last year or two I think I've come

close to panic attacks. More anxiety and says I need to get on

medication & relax, LOL. I'm 50 now. Oh, and I've had my OCD

episodes but nothing that lasts like what my son is going through. I

have the same type thoughts (scrupulosity) he does but manage to

shrug them off; and though I may have them daily, probably not as

ongoing as his appear to be. (Mine has picked back up - waxed -

since he's been going through this)

And I see all this as coming from my mom, not my dad. Anyone else

see it in family history as more from " mother " than father?

And am wondering about identical twins perhaps both having " same

problems " vs the not identical. ( has OCD, doesn't,

though we all have our quirks; has Aspergers's,

doesn't)

I don't really know of any history in their dad's family at all, only

alcoholism seems to come from there (all anyone has ever mentioned).
