Guest guest
Hi all! I was contacted today by a referring veterinarian regarding an 8 month old labrador retriever with a partial cranial cruciate ligament rupture. Due to the dogs age, the surgeon does not want to perform a TPLO and at this time cage rest is being recommended to allow fibrosis of the stifle joint. Other than using NMES to help with disuse atrophy, I was wondering about using LASER over the stifle joint, but am concerned about the dog's open physes! Anyone dealt with a similar case? Any thoughts or recommendations for proceeding with therapy? What about Vet-Stem for this patient? Thanks!!! Guest guest
Hi , I asked Deb Saunders that same question when I was taking a refresher rehab UT class this past summer and she said it does not do harm or affect growth plates. Hope that helped.
