We are committed in ensuring the most effective, individualized intervention program for each child and to provide the highest quality in teaching and learning that we can possibly achieve. Our school thrives on nurturing independent growth and fostering a diginified quality of life. Autism is a complex neurological disorder that typically lasts throughout a person's lifetime. Today, 1 in 150 individuals is diagnosed with autism. It occurs in all racial, ethnic, and social groups and is four times more likely to strike boys than girls. Autism impairs a person's ability to communicate and relate to others. It is also associated with impeding maladaptive behavior, rigid routines and repetitive behaviors. Symptoms can range from very mild to quite severe. Currently, there are no effective means to prevent autism, no fully effective treatments, and no cure. Research indicates, however, that early intervention in an appropriate educational setting can result in significant improvements for many young children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. As soon as autism is diagnosed, early intervention instruction should begin. Effective programs, such as ours, focus on developing communication, social, and functional life -cognitive skills. The ELIJA School is a private, non-profit school for children and young adults diagnosed with autistic spectrum disorders that provides an individualized full day 12 month program .The ELIJA School serves the needs of our learners with science based treatment; utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. It provides an intensive, 1 to 1 child to teacher ratio in a comprehensive instructional setting within a classroom environment. The ELIJA School focuses on the development of functional communication, academic and social life skills. The ELIJA School conducts external program evaluations to monitor the quality and effectiveness of our educational & treatment programs.
