Guest guest
Hi Ed & Group, Dr does write some excellent articles. You get the " answer " in some of his articles but are encouraged to subscribe to his newsletter to get most of the answers. Although he never disclosed the supplement that is more beneficial than aspirin, some one awhile back sent an email to be about " grape seed extract " , aka GSE. It was just by chance that I was looking for an alternate to 81mg of aspirin, as even that low of a dose set off my very minor tinnitus which I usually only notice at night but was now bugging me during the day. Very lengthy article on GSE: http://www.rmbarry.com/research/grape_seed_extract.html The section that discusses aspirin vs GSE is titled... " Grape Seed Extract and Heart Disease " Excerpt: In the early 1970s he (Dr. Folts) developed an experimental model to study in vivo thrombus formation in stenosed arteries with endothelial and medial damage. In 1974 he first demonstrated in vivo that aspirin can significantly reduce the incidence of coronary thrombosis. Currently, he is studying the antiplatelet/antioxidant properties of polyphenolic compounds found in red wine, dark beer, fruit juices, and tea. These compounds appear to be better platelet inhibitors than aspirin. This PubMed article demonstrates GSE protects against oxidative damage: http://tinyurl.com/p6ha7 " Defatted milled grape seed protects adriamycin-treated hepatocytes against oxidative damage.
