Guest guest
**************** I sincerely hope that when your son gets to the psychiatrist this doctor can talk him into a med change if that is what is needed. Sometimes they can do this where a parent cannot. **************** Good point, Barb! We found this to be true. Josh and I have always had really good communication. . He's always told me everything, which is helpful when you are dealing with OCD (although sometimes overwhelming and frightening too, when you find out what is going through their mind). But, I found his therapist was able to talk him into things I could not. And I find myself thinking it might be because the therapist did not have an emotional investment, like I did. Being more objective, he was calmer, more patient, and more rational about it. And Josh responded differently to that. It's hard to have that demeanor when you are overwhelmed, sleep deprived, and every nerve is rubbed raw and you are near a breakdown, from watching your child suffer.
