Guest guest
Hi all! Most of the old-timers know me--I've been around for 5 years now! But, I mostly read now because my DD (13) is doing well with her OCD. I just got an e-mail from a dear dear friend that said that her son was diagnosed with bipolar. He is 16. I know many of you have dual diagnosis' for your children. What hope can I give her? I haven't paid close enough attention to your bipolar concerns. Do children do well with bipolar once they are medicated properly? Is it always a med. battle? What advice can I give her? Any books/resources that have been helpful? Thanks for letting me go off topic. You can e-mail me privately so we don't take time on the list. I appreciate your help! Dina
Guest guest
Hi Dina, As you know, I have two kids with OCD and Bipolar, ages 12 and 7. The problem with the OCD and Bipolar diagnosis is the fact that the meds work against each other, but if the child only has Bipolar, he has a much better chance of getting stabilized. " The Bipolar Child " is a great book to start with. She can feel free to e-mail me privately if she wishes(or you can) Hugs Judy ________________________________ To: Sent: Tuesday, December 30, 2008 3:05:10 AM Subject: Bipolar help? Hi all!
