Guest guest
Connie: Gloe is right, Bill mentions it in his book too. I would wait 1 1/2 to 2 hrs after your am meal/pro drink to workout, you want your blood nurishing those muscles and not working on digestion. I do my weights in the evening and this is what I do (it is working for me). Remember to be well hydrated, becuz being slightly dehydrated can cause fatique. Sounds like you are doing great, so keep reaching for those 10's. Guest guest
For actual weight training, ya gotta eat. You aren't trying to increase metabolism when you lift weights. In weight training you are going for muscle gain, definition and body reshaping. You need energy. It's okay to eat even 1/2 hour before working out. The shakes are best. Also, eat after weight training. Shakes are best for after workouts since the protein is easily digestable and assimilated quickly. For cardio. That's where the not eating, empty stomach prerequisite comes in. Since you can do your cardio early in the morning you should be set. If you aren't dropping the weight as quickly as you like I would evaluate your intensity in your cardio. Try that and see how it fits. Get back with the group so we can adjust if needed. -Nic
Guest guest
Connie, If you consume your shake an hour before your weight training then it should give you the energy you need for lifting. If you consume it right before your workout then your blood is busy at the digestive track and not in your muscles where you need it. ~Laury
