The ideal applicant loves working with children, and is a mature, dependable, and career-oriented individual who is seeking to increase their knowledge and expertise in delivering intensive behavioral intervention to children with autism. This individual has completed at least a bachelor’s degree in behavior analysis, special education, psychology or related field, with at least two years experience providing behavioral intervention to children with autism spectrum disorders in a school or center-based program and/or in-home program, with behavior analyst certification (BCABA, BCBA) or intent to pursue certification within 6 months of employment. Education and/or training in verbal behavior is desirable but not required. Daily ongoing training and supervision are provided by a BCBA. All instructors must complete a training period before working one to one with students. Instructors receive an annual salary divided into biweekly payments. Benefits include paid vacation, holidays, sick/personal days and group health insurance. Wayman Learning Center provides intensive, individualized, center-based ABA services for children with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities, with a behavioral approach to language and communication based on Skinner’s analysis of verbal behavior. The staff to student ratio is at least one staff per student at all times, and occasionally there may be two or three staff working with one student. Services are delivered in a large, clean, modern, well-equipped facility located in a desirable northern suburb of Dallas, TX.
