Guest guest
I completely understand your panic! By the time my 11 year old was diagnosed this past summer I was in a complete panic. Our world was suddenly turned upside down and she lost a lot of her innocence. Joei's thoughts mostly center around her health and harm to herself. I will never forget the night on the way to the ER because she had thoughts that she was going to stab herself. She sat there in the car and told me that she never in her life would imagine this would be happening to her. It turns out she had a lot of shame around her thoughts and they were so outlandish to her that she wasn't talking about them to me. She was scared of what would happen to her if she told people. It still is not easy to handle, but by reading and trying to educate myself and her it is getting to be less of a " panic " situation when her thoughts or anxiety attacks happen. I tell ya though, that was not the case this past July and August! Wow.. scary times! You have not done anything wrong! I'm learning that we deal with this to the best of our ability, with each situation with whatever tools we have. ~~Kathy Courage is not living without fear. Courage is being scared to death and doing the right thing anyway. -Chae ________________________________ To: Sent: Thursday, December 25, 2008 7:04:46 PM Subject: Re: New here Oh THANKS o very much for the response!
