Guest guest
> Has anyone here ever had the experience of ERP making things WORSE??. Because of our busy schedule, we don't always get to the ERP stuff each and every night; it's about every other or every 2 nights or so. And we do her workbook, only 5 or 10 pages at a time though. > But every time, without fail, when she does it, the next day she's worse! Much more anxious, upset, looking at shoes everywhere, you name it! It's hard to get into her therapist, but even when she went once a week without fail, it just makes it worse. I've talked to death about talking back to the OCD and getting mad (not afraid) at it, but she just seems so willing to BE the OCD when it flares. She doesn't even try to talk back to it. She does soooo much better when she can just ignore it (she's getting to the point where she even hates talking about the OCD). She won't do the ERP or workbook either unless I initiate it, sit down with her, or whatever. > It actually seems when she is forced to face it, it's just too much for her to deal with. When we go a couple of days with no therapy, no ERP, no mention of OCD, she's literally almost " normal " . She's 14, remember, so I'm sure this is part of it. I should also mention, she's off the Zoloft now, only on Lexapro (10mg), since Friday and is worse. The psych doc gave me a prescrip for 20 mg if I felt the need to go higher, but I want to give it more time. I'm just really tired of the one step forward, two steps back routine! > For those of you with kids on Lexapro, how long does it take to " work " ? What will I see when it does work? > Thanks! > Debbie > http://twochinadolls.blogspot.com > > > > ____________________________________________________________ > Bills adding up?
