Guest guest
I've recently become aware that a former team coordinator with whom I worked overcharged a school district for my services without my knowledge and pocketed the money. It was an extraordinary amount of money. For an average month without days off my services collected an additional $900 for this woman. I was told not to give the district a bill, but rather give her a list of hours because she said it would be easier. And when I told her I needed to raise my rate half way through the year she limited the amount because she said the district wouldn't pay. I wasn't her employee and as an independent therapist did not authorize her to charge any additional fees. It occurred to me that there are possibly more therapists in the same situation. Parents running their own programs, too, may be paying more for therapists who are working at a fair rate of pay. Parents have enough to deal with when creating programs for their children with disabilities. Most struggle to pay for therapies and sometimes expensive legal fees. Teachers put in a lot of effort to help their students. Why should someone collect so much income that is earned by someone else? ________________________________________________________________________ Check out the new AOL.
