I don't know of any that offer any services for children with autism or other disabilities. Schools in Madison's suburbs vary in the quality and range of sp ed services. Since schools are mainly funded by property taxes, areas with high property values usually--but not always--have the best schools. ,Colin P's mom [VerbalBehavior] Madison, Wisconsin area schools... Hi everyone, I have a friend that will be moving from Georgia to Madison, WI late spring. Does anyone have any info on the surrounding schools in Madison area? Her daughter is in first grade and has autism. My friend has been doing a home program (for years) and her daughter just started a private autism program this past fall. She is looking to see what the public and non-public schools have to offer. Her daughter is nonverbal, however communicates through sign language. Her daughter is considered high functioning, however understanding language is a huge deficit. She is hoping there is a public school out there that can meet her daughter's needs. Thanks so much.
