rsalehi and group,

Have a communication clinic assess his speech status and recommend an

alternative communication system. My son is nonverbal but has typed his

messages since he was 5YO.

[ ] Expressive vs receptive: How to narrow down the gap?

Hi

My son's receptive language is progressing very well but he has not

added up to the 4 words he was able to say.

Could anybody give some piece of advice to what to do to help him to

talk. I am doing some works based on the book " More than words " with

him, but he seems has not taken off in his speaking yet. Any

suggestion?

Thanks

Please could you tell me what your son uses to type with? With voice output or

without? How did you teach him to type/spell? I am trying to get my son typing,

but SLT would like him on a symbol based system. I think that is limiting him a

lot, especially as the communication book he was given only contains very, very

basic vocabulary. Any advice would be very helpful. Thanks
