USCCB Friday statement on HHS Mandate

While numerous articles and on-air statements parrot the message that 98% of women have used contraceptives at some point,  only 61.8% are current users. http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nsfg/abc_list_c.htm#everused    

While it looks like a great opportunity to rise to the defense of NFP,  listening to the NBC  morning talk show today,  I heard: “if they fight the contraceptive mandate on religious liberty grounds,  they will  win,  but if they make contraception the issue the suburban  housewives will rise up to defend it”  I’m afraid they are right.

 

I completely agree with Gaes and Marguerite Duane,  and could add, again,  that perhaps half the users of contraceptive steroids lose their libido thanks to the hormones’ binding to SHBG, this issue is now political and of course, a matter of money so something as simple as truth or reason is not going to be heard.

So the big selling point from Obama's speech yesterday is that " contraception is safe and cost effective " . Why don't they just require that the insurance cover NFP? Big win for everybody.
