Guest guest
Hi everyone! Just got off the phone with who is an account executive from the Listening Program and she was very helpful! For anyone who has questions about the program I suggest you call them direct at 1.888.228.1798 or International +1.801.622.5676. said that nobody should purchase their program from Ebay as just like Sherry and I were trying to say the discs are not a " one size fits all " Even though nobody should be selling this through Ebay -if you do purchase the program through Ebay she said people shouldn't expect good results. Up till now we haven't heard much about this program but I found out that just like Vital Links The Listening Program is a home based program that can be used during therapy as well -but also like Vital Links the program needs to be overseen and selected by a trained professional. Also just like Vital Links and others -The Listening Program has " thousands " of providers all over the world. For The Listening Program you can search providors at this page and if you can't find ont they suggest you call them. http://www.thelisteningprogram.com/Provider_Locator.asp (I have other links in the archive below to other programs as well as it's never a bad idea to research more than one) Also since when is Ebay's price so great anyway? Right now the price on Ebay is already over 300 dollars (!!!) -which to be honest is about what I paid through Tanner's speech therapist for the headphones at that time -and we only started with one CD -which is the only one we had to use for Tanner and the CDs were not that much - 30? We used this at home -but also brought it with us for therapy and it was on Tanner's head during therapy. We did get another CD at some point but again it was meant just for Tanner's needs and it was another 30 bucks or so. I was told the headphones are most important. Some here are talking about 100 to 180 dollar headphones so I don't know if the price has gone down over the years? Either way the price on Ebay appears high -and it's not recommended by The Listening Program -the people that created the program. I'd bail if I was one of you bidding on The Listening Program on Ebay and just contact a provider- do it the correct way -and get CDs that are meant for your child's needs -not that person on Ebay's child's needs. =====
Guest guest
Cheapest TLP is $400 unless you get the discount./ OT discount price is $375 and that is for the Classic version. Headphones are purchased separately and there is an approved list. > > Hi everyone! > > Just got off the phone with who is an account executive from > the Listening Program and she was very helpful! Guest guest
Likely Level 1. Claasic has 8 cds plus a prelude. Not sure on bone conduction. > > We are currently doing the Listening Program through our OT and ours > has 10 CD's. ?????????????? > Carla >
Guest guest
Program is over $400 and does not include headphones. More than one cd always required and the set can only be bought as a set, not one cd individually. The headphones are seaparate and for classic or level one can run up to $200 so you can see why the lore to ebay but the danger in ebay is if dubbed, scratched, etc. though as I understand it if dubbed the original is messed up as there is software protection these now. Bone conduction headphones are $900. I am with you about the provder, at least in the beginning but as I have said many times, make sure the provider sticks to protocol. > > Hi everyone! > > Just got off the phone with who is an account executive from > the Listening Program and she was very helpful! Guest guest
Let me tell you about my 'provider' experience. Okay, this was pre-NACD days and I was desparately searching for something to help Mark. I discovered TLP but had no way to get it as there were no providers remotely close to me. I found an outfit in New York to sell it to me and for an extra $125 you had a telephone interview with a psychologist. ly, it was a waste of both my time and my money. I didn't learn anything from the provider that I did not read in the literature. For me at the time, it was a lot of money since I was 'short' of it. I could have spent $125 on a lot of things. I didn't learn anything from this guy that I did not already know..... If I could do it again, I'd buy it on Ebay...... At any rate, Mark is older then the other kids but if something were to go awry, I personally the women on this and other boards are more experienced in apraxia, autism and sensory processing disorders then most therapists! I would certainly come to you guys with any of 'weird reactions' to anything before almost any therapist! I trust your knowledge and experience base a whole lot more! Just my humble opinion.
