Guest guest
Hello, Another member of this group suggested that I post a message about my current research study. I am a graduate student of Special Education at Vanderbilt University. I am conducting a research study to better understand why our sons/daughters may be at greater risk of being taken advantage of. I am studying whether individuals with certain Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities are more vulnerable to social exploitation, such as financial scams, physical and sexual assaults, theft, and bullying, compared to others with disabilities or to individuals without disabilities. I also wish to better understand why certain individuals with disabilities are more vulnerable to exploitation and if certain characteristics within their personalities or living arrangements make them more susceptible to exploitation. If you care for a 16 to 50 year old person with an Intellectual or Developmental Disability, and would like to help me answer this question, please contact me. I will ask you to complete surveys about the personality, habits, behavior, gullibility, and living situation of your family member with a disability. These surveys will take about 30 to 45 minutes to complete. Surveys will be mailed to you, with prepaid return postage for you to send them back. You will receive a $10 gift certificate for completing the questionnaires. If you have any questions about the study described or if you are interested in participating, contact me at marisa.fisher@....
