Bob, the Tortured Therapy Pet Tortoise Update

If you aren't familiar with this story, it concerns the 7/7/07 theft

and abuse of a Ventura, CA family's pet 40 lb. 25 year-old tortoise,

who was the companion of their Autistic 6 year-old son. The

boy " came out of his shell " and began to communicate with " Bob " when

he joined the family.

important online petition that seeks the maximum sentence for Bob's

perpetrator. You can also watch the new tribute video for Bob shot

and edited by our webmaster two weeks ago. It's thrilling to actually

be able to see him and read about his recovery after surgery last

week. Additionally, we have set up our " BOB S.O.S. -- Love Every

Living Thing " Shop to raise additional funds for Bob's ongoing

medical expenses. There are some very cool items available,

inspiring humane treatment of all living things. In today's climate,

his can't be stated enough!

As a reminder, the next court appearance for perpetrator Tony

Mosqueda will be this Wednesday, Sept. 5th, so please continue

emailing the Ventura County District Attorney regarding your feelings

about this (info on our site) and encourage sympathetic friends to do

so as well.
