Guest guest
Maree, I am pleased you finally have a date for your surgery, bugger about the out of pocket, they sting you every way. I know what you have done for a man from another race, and I am sorry if my reaction upset you. I think we are all strong in our way of defending ourselves through our past experience, but underneath really a bundle of hurt and concerns. All the best for the op. From: SydBand [mailto:SydBand ] On Behalf Of maree Sent: Tuesday, 4 July 2006 7:32 PM To: SydBand Subject: Rollercoaster of emotions Hi, I just got home, been with Dr. Talbot for hours. I have a hernia, a slip and and enlarged pouch and a port that is upside down! Shades of Ghyll with one better outlook. He thinks because my band worked so well initially I will be okay to have another. He also said the options are getting shorter though and if this doesn't work it will be a bypass same if my tummy is swollen or too scarred when he goes in. He took my fill out, 7mils. I complained he put half back in, then I started to cry because I said I can put on stones with no fill so he got sympathetic and said what are you doing tomorrow. I said nothing, and he replied I will operate tomorrow. So in he goes again, no camera, no barium and takes all the fill out again in preparation. I came out with a smile like the cat who ate the cream and filled out the papers. THEN, they notice I have written that I take Cartia every day to thin my blood because of my heart and he says I can't do it, you will haemmorage. I cry again, No fill now, anyway, bottom line he is operating when he returns from NZ on the 28th July. 3 weeks with No fill. I am scared and upset that I may gain weight. I told him I don't care if I don't loose more just petrified I will gain. He asked me to forgive Braniff and go back there as he would have to charge me. He said Layani is a good surgeon. I told him about the lack of capable care I had been receiving and said I'd pay, so I'm up for another $2800.00 out of pocket. It's not fair but I would rather pay that and have a capable Dr. looking after me. I will see what I can do about SIOS when I feel a bit more normal, at the moment I am a bit emotional. Anyway, that is my sad story. No wonder I felt crook, I reckon with the tummy coming up through the band, the hernia creating the reflux and the enlarged pouch I am lucky not to have already gained. I will sign off now and you won't hear from me for a while, I need to concentrate on myself and don't want to be involved with other people's sensitivities and misconceptions. Anyone who thinks I am discriminate should remember I fed, clothed and cared for not just one but a tribe of people who 'chose' not to work regularly and they were from another culture. I did this willingly for in excess of 6 years giving them the benefit of the doubt. I have been used and abused and if I am over sensitive to the issue I will not attempt to justify my feelings further. Best wishes all, Maree -- No virus found in this incoming message. Guest guest
Hi Maree, Kind of a double edged sword with all that news - like its not good that it happened, but it is kinda good to have an explanation of all the trouble you've been having. Hope you are able to stay strong and work through all the feelings I can only imagine you feel right now. Also hope the next weeks go quick as a flash for you & its all fixed up before you know it. I rarely read here at the moment but i do hope it all goes well for you. Jen
