This is a very uncomfortable reply to write. I am at the moment

one of those no hopers. I am on the single parenting payment, and whilst I had

a job lost it when I had time off for the op. I also have Foxtel. I signed up

for it when I had the money when I left Don

(from selling the shares) and through my own stupid fault I can see now I have

many other needs for the money. I am looking for a job, but as I am on my own

and Don isn’t keen on helping

through the week I have to work when he has them, or put them in care, so I

keep on looking. I can understand your anger Maree, I had out of pockets from

the gall bladder, but every time I get my health care card out I am embarrassed

that people will think exactly what you thought. I never wanted to be a welfare

bludger, now I am. I am not trying to offend, simply giving my side.

I too find it sad, and a bit horrifying

that people can be called “loafing no hopers” just on the

basis that they pay less out of pocket, are on a benefit of some sort, or are bumped up a queue. There is so

many reasons why people are on govt. assistance – none of which you can

necessarily see just by looking at them.

I understand the frustrations of waiting, it can be very

annoying, but labeling people is dangerous & very unhelpful in my opinion.

Don’t we need to be a little more careful of making or

supporting such sweeping statement

about people?

Hello to all the bandsters ( or who is waiting to be banded like me)

I do know I have been very quiet lately, but I think a lot remember me.

Anyway I like to let the newies know a bit again:

I am on the public hospital waiting list since January. I went through a lot of doctors and surgeons, only to pay and find out they don't do it in the public hospital. I also joined the private health cover , because I am so desperate to get this op done.

Most of the bandsters out there seem to have no problem to got the op done, because they were all covered.Or able to get a credit!!!

I am very hurt and upset like Pyretta. Because I am on disability pension and my husband cares for me as well, and on top of it I am born in Germany and ONLY an Australian since 15 years. I am to sick to live by myself and I do need a person to look after me. That does not mean I need a wheelchair or walking sticks, not at all ,I think I do look very healthy. Yes it is very un fortune that people judge so easy and in a hurry. Nobody knows how the real life is behind every single person and how much worry they carry . I am very sad about it. Sabine
