Guest guest
I am re-posting a section of a post I just wrote to ozband. A member wrote that they were thinking of attempting their own fills. I cannot stress the following strongly enough ... *** Fills ... you won't be able to do your own. Believe me - it won't happen. You risk puncturing your tubing, creating leaks in the port and infection. If you do attempt this, you will lose the warranty on your band completely and I assure you, you will be unsuccessful. I have had my band for 5 years, I work for a band surgeon, I am a nurse and regardless of where your port is located, the angle of entry for the needle into the reservior and the amount of pressure required to get the needle into the reservior is not possible by you without serious risk and probable damage. NO ONE ... absolutely NO ONE should attempt their own fills and adjustments. This is a dangerous idea and is not recommended by anyone on this site. Guest guest
Bev That is alarming that anyone could seriously consider doing this to themselves. I do hope that it was said in jest. Nx
