Guest guest
Just FYI of a sample of Federal Resolutions that looked of interest under the search term " autism " at http://thomas.loc.gov/ The below is not the complete listing; there are other Resolutions, such as the " Expanding the Promise " Act. For a complete list, look under search term " autism " . If the links go bad on send, you can search for text and status of any bills of interest in Congress either under search term or specific bill number. I would be interested in the thoughts of those working on state insurance coverage for autism/PDDs of the last bill below; HR 5028. An observation is that if that bill would be of potential benefit that it could use some cosponsors to have any hope of making it through committee. ---------------------------------- 4184 . IDEA Fairness Restoration Act (Introduced in House) [H.R.4188.IH] H. R. 4188 To amend the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act to permit a prevailing party in an action or proceeding brought to enforce the Act to be awarded expert witness fees and certain other expenses. IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES November 14, 2007 Mr. VAN HOLLEN (for himself and Mr. SESSIONS) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Education and Labor http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c110:H.R.4188.IH: ------------------------------ H.R.2609 Title: To require the establishment of a task force to identify and disseminate evidence-based educational strategies and promising best practices to improve the quality of learning for individuals with autism in grades K-12. http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d110:h.r.02609: ----------------------------------- Introduced 1/16/08 H.R.5028 Title: To amend the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 and the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to require that group health plans provide coverage for pervasive developmental disorders such as autism. Sponsor: Rep Wexler, [FL-19] (introduced 1/16/2008) Cosponsors (None) Latest Major Action: 1/16/2008 Referred to House committee. Status: Referred to the Committee on Education and Labor, and in addition to the Committee on Ways and Means, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned. http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d110:h.r.05028: Have an excellent day, Regina F.
