Parent’s group Moms Against Mercury, with the support of dozens of

organizations from around the US, is holding a rally today (Feb. 20) at the

national headquarters of the American Academy of Pediatrics in Chicago to draw

attention to their ongoing campaign to lie about mercury, vaccines and autism.

is in the habit of telling some real whoppers. A couple weeks ago the

AAP attempted to censor an episode of ABC’s Eli Stone program that included a

storyline about mercury in vaccines causing autism. In a public letter to ABC

wrote, “No mercury is used as a preservative in routinely offered

childhood vaccines.” That is simply not true. There are two vaccines that

contain mercury as a preservative that are routinely recommended for children

and two more that contain mercury used for purposes other than a preservative,

not including older vaccines that are still on the shelves. And dozens of

vaccines containing mercury are used with pregnant women, and their developing

fetuses.

also wrote, “No scientific link exists between vaccines and autism.”

Which is true if you ignore a few hundred peer reviewed papers on how mercury

affects human bodies.

And back in 1999 the AAP said mercury should come out of vaccines “as soon as

possible” but for the past four years they have been leading they fight against

mercury-free vaccines in the US, even though they have been available outside

the US for years.
