Guest guest
I am forwarding this request for an experienced ABA tutor who is interested in being an Au Pair in furt Germany for a year. Please contact the email address on the letter below directly. Thanks, _________________________________ Schramm, MA, BCBA Author of Educate Toward Recovery: Turning the Tables on Autism www.lulu.com/knospe-aba www.knospe-aba.com _________________________________ " There is no greater testament to character than the selfless act designed to go unnoticed "  R.S. Dear future Aupair, We are a German-American family living in Germany near furt and are really looking forward for you to join our family for at least one year. We are looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic young person to help care for our son . Benny is 9 years old and is a wonderful, good natured and affectionate child who has a great sense of humor and loves to be silly. He likes riding a bicycle, swimming and has a lot of fun attempting to play soccer. Indoors, he prefers to play board and card games as well as watching his favorite TV shows. He attends a choir and has started to learn to play the piano. Our son has special needs, he is diagnosed with Autism. Caring for a child with special needs is a different experience which can be extremely rewarding for the right person. Benny relates very well to most people and wants to please. People who praise him for his successes and are patient with his difficulties are very important for him. Currently our son is mainstreamed into a regular school with a teaching aid. He will attend third grade after the summer vacation. In subjects like math, music, spelling and reading he does very well. Benny also has an extremely good memory. His problems are understanding how things connect together and how people normally act on a social basis. Unlike a typical child, Benny does not have many friends. He likes many of his classmates and believes they are his friends as he can not tell who really is interested in him. Since the prior five years we have helped Benny to reach his potential through ABA. At age 5 he was still nonverbal, unable to imitate. He had no self help skills. Through the assistance of our supervisors and our ABA-team Benny could reach these goals. Currently we receive supervision and coaching through Knospe-ABA www.knospe-aba.com. This institute is lead by Schramm, a Certified Board Behavior Analysist from the US, who is probable well known in the ABA field and who is the autor of the book “Educate Toward Recovery: Turning the Tables on Autismâ€. We are looking for an Aupair who preferably has worked with children with Autism and who has knowledge of ABA. We do not require that you speak German, you may take language lessons upon arrival in Germany. In third grade, Benny will have English. He is already interested in and has started off with learning English in a playful manor. After school, which ends around 1 p.m., Benny has Co-therapists coming to our home to teach him. He is a very hard worker, trying to keep up with the goals and demands from school. Your part will be to spend Benny’s spare time together with him utilizing ABA-principles (NET and on-the-go). Between getting Benny ready for school in the morning, bringing him there (5 minutes walk) and picking him up in the afternoon you have spare time. If you wish, you can attend language classes during this time or tend to other issues of your own interest. After Benny is back from school one of us parents will prepare the family lunch. Mom and dad take turns in going to the office and working at home. You will always have someone to communicate with and help you with your concerns. Before our ABA co-therapists come in the afternoon, Benny does his homework. On certain days Benny will go to his choir lessons or attend other activities to which you may accompany him. If you are very interested in being an active member of our ABA team, helping Benny to achieve successes, we shall definitely encourage you. Being a very important person for Benny’s future, you are warmly invited to participate in our regular ABA-consultations. We are very dedicated parents who want to give our son every opportunity to experience all of life's joys and to become an independent person when he grows up. If this is something you want to share and be a part of, then we think you will find spending time in our home and with our family to be a very rewarding and enjoyable experience. Perhaps you are considering making work with children with special needs, such as those diagnosed with ASD, your future profession. Experiencing a year with a family with just this background along with the possibility to get to know a different culture, learn another language and travel in Europe can be worth thinking about. Upon interest we can discuss all further details. Just send us an email with your short curriculum vitae, describing why you feel motivated about this job and stating how we can contact you. We shall be glad to call you and are looking forward to talk to you. Thank you, Christian Schlaefke-, Audrey and Address: Audrey and Christian-Schlaefke Hinter den Zaeunen 17 61137 Schoeneck-Buedesheim Germany Email: Audrey.@...
