Guest guest
PA HB1150 AUTISM INSURANCE REFORM BILL--Please forward to any interested parties. ----------------------------------- Date: Wed, 02 Apr 2008 16:31:26 -0400 Subject: [autism_insurance_information] Take Action in PA: Help Get a Vote on HB 1150 HELP URGE THE PA SENATE TO HOLD AN IMMEDIATE COMMITTEE VOTE ON HB 1150, THE AUTISM INSURANCE REFORM BILL! Yesterday the Pensylvania Senate Banking & Insurance Committee, Chaired by Senator Don White, held a hearing on House Bill 1150. This bill seeks to require health insurance companies to provide coverage for autism-related services. Chairman White has said that he wants to wait for more information before he allows this bill to be voted on. By not allowing for a vote, he is POSTPONING the right for children with autism to get the health care coverage they need. We need all members of the Pennsylvania Senate to ask Chairman White to hold this vote and YOU CAN HELP!! ACTION NEEDED: 1. Simply visit our NEW Autism Votes website at www.autismvotes.org/resources to find out which PA Senator is yours. 2. Then MAKE A CALL to his/her office! Talking points for the call are below and the phone number to make the call can be accessed right on the Autism Votes website. It's that easy! 3. Then send an EMAIL to your PA Senator! TALKING POINTS FOR CALLS TO SENATE OFFICES: Ask to speak with your Senator's Health Legislative Assistant (Health LA). Make sure you let them know that YOU ARE A CONSTITUENT. Tell the Health LA that you understand that even after the 3 hour hearing on April 1 that Banking & Insurance Committee Chairman Don White still wants more information and is unwilling to schedule a vote on HB 1150 and that you need the help of your senator to push the Chairman for an immediate vote on this bill. Every day we delay, children with autism lose precious time to have a chance at the best possible life. Feel free to tell your own story about why this insurance is so important to you/your family/your friend. To learn more about autism legislation in Pennsylvania go to www.autismvotes.org/pennsylvania. Thank you again for your help in this effort. We will not stop until every child with autism has the health care coverage they need and deserve!
