BERMUDA AUTISM EARLY INTERVENTION CENTRE

This new Early Intervention Centre specializing in Verbal Behavior Therapy for

children under the Autism Spectrum is looking for staff to be a part of this

landmark facility for Bermuda. The following are job descriptions for whichwe

are accepting applications. A minimum of 2 years commitment is required for each

of these positions.

DIRECTOR

Board Certified Behavior Analyst required to head an Early Intervention Centre

for children under the Autism Spectrum. Minimum of 3 years experience assessing

and designing programs using ABLLS and Verbal Behavior. Must have management

experience, good organizational skills, strong leadership skills, be

personable and be able to oversee the day to day running of an early

intervention centre. Must be able to lead a team of therapists and work well

within that team.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required.

• Minimum of 3 years experience designing, implementing and assessing programs

using ABLLS and Verbal Behavior.

• Must also have an understanding of other treatment methods - RDI,

Greenspan’s Floortime, Sensory Integration, etc.

• Experience as a director or high-level manager for a minimum of 3 years

• Clinical competence in family therapy, behavior therapy, and

cognitivebehavioral therapy

• Familiarity with research literature on the causes, correlates, and

treatments of autism and disorders under the autism spectrum

• The ability to train staff, parents and partners on the principles of Verbal

Behavior and how to apply the skills learned

• The ability to provide hands on therapy to clients

• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills

VERBAL BEHAVIOR THERAPISTS

We are accepting resumes for the post of Verbal Behavior Therapist to work

within an established team of 4 Verbal Behavior Therapists. A BA/BS degree is

required. The Verbal Behavior Therapist will be responsible for carrying out

daily hands-on one-on-one treatment to children with autism and will report to

the Early Intervention Centre Director. Experience working with children with

autism or disorders under the autism spectrum essential. Psychology, ECE, ABA,

CDA or teaching background preferred.

Knowledge of the Verbal Behavior technique of Applied Behavior Analysis is a

definite asset.

Must be energetic, patient, and be able to work well with taking directions

and in a team environment. Must be creative and enjoy working with young

children and their families. Must be able to work independently and have good

interpersonal skills.

Should be able to design and implement behavioral strategies with the children

and their families within the EIC and school environments.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree

• Basic understanding and hands on experience working with children using

Applied Behavior Analysis with a strong emphasis on Skinner’s model of Verbal

Behavior

• Experience using the ABLLS curriculum

• Prior experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders

• Familiarity with research literature on the causes, correlates, and

treatments of autism and disorders under the autism spectrum

• Excellent interpersonal skills
