Hi every one

I have been working with my 10-year old who is minimally verbal  using ABA/VB

techniques.  I dont have any formal education on using ABA/VB  and also i dont

have anyone to help me so i am finding it a bit harder teach my son. My only

contact with ABA is when my son had got them when we were in the US and also one

or two workshops i attended at that time. But that was back in 2004, i guess.

In traditional ABA the first step would be Mass trial in isolation right i.e.

Mass trial A in isolation

Mass trial B in isolation

Mass trial A with B as a distractor

Mass trial B with A as a distractor.............................. and i am stuck

there not knowing how to proceed

Also, when working with my son some of the difficulties i am having is :

1) He does not scan at the items when i show it to him When i say " look " he

looks in to my face (i sit besides him) and not  the item'/card in front of him

..

2)He tends to pick the item closest to him and some times by chance he gets them

right  and if i promt him over the next few drills then he keeps on picking up

from the opposite side

3)when he picks up the card/item from the table if i dont extend my hand then he

himself realizes that is wrong  drops and pick and give me the next one

Because of all these i am unable to know what exactly he knows an how to go

further

It will be great if some one can come forward with some suggestions

and if someone is willing to help me with implementing the home program they can

contact me off list also at miag.krish (DOT) com
