The University of Scranton is pleased to announce its 6th Annual Northeastern

U.S. Conference on disABILITY!

This year's conference, " Autism Across the Lifespan: Allies in Action " , will

take place on The University's campus, in Brennan Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30

p.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2007.

Over the past five years, hundreds of people from K-12 education, higher

education, health care, economic development, and government have attended our

disABILITY Conference, and were provided with invaluable insight into how to

positively influence the quality of life and wellness of individuals and

families living with disabilities.

This year's conference is for all who are professionally or personally

interested in improving the quality of life for individuals with autism, with

sessions focusing on education, employment and independent living.

Keynote speakers will be two leading advocates for autism in Pennsylvania and

America:

Dennis O’Brien, 137th Speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and

founder and co-chairman of the Pennsylvania Legislative Autism Caucus

Lee Grossman, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Autism Society of

America and the Autism Society of America Foundation

Sponsors for the event include Northeastern Intermediate Unit #19, The Northeast

Regional Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders at Friendship House, Milestones

Community Healthcare, Milestones Achievement Center, New York Life, R.
