Guest guest
A student at our school will be moving to southern California this summer. I have a couple of questions for those of you in California. Just a little background: For 2 years he has done an ABA/VB program with us. He has nearly completed the ABLLS, Language for Learning Program (he's in book D), and is halfway through a year of pre-k with no additional supports (in a private pre-k). I go to observe him about once every other week to consult with the teacher. He will be having an IEP developed here in Georgia to bring to California. 1. Right now is diagnosis through the public school is Significantly Developmentally Delayed (SDD). The school (in GA) has told her that she can keep this diagnosis until he's 9-years-old. Our question is would he receive better services in California with an Autism diagnosis? In Georgia it really doesn't matter because we don't have great services no matter what the diagnosis... 2. I believe this family is moving to Bernadino County (hopefully I spelled this correct). Are there any Behavior Analysts in this area? She would like to begin interviewing and gathering resumes so we can determine a good contact to continue monitoring his behavior, language development, and social skill development. She would like to gather this info now so I can help her find someone there to carry on his wonderful progress that he's made here!!! Please email me privately with any information! Thanks!!!
