I received a copy of my Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) ultrasound that was done

last week. Result: Impression, no AAA -- max AP diameter 2.5 cm. Proximal =

2.5cm, mid = 2.4cm and distal = 2.3cm and a hand written comment " great news! "

lw (Lynn Webster, my PCP)

That is just for info, the real story is that I didn't know how great the news

was and why the test was done. A quick trip to " uptodate " and I found the goal

is under 3 cm. I found my factors might be age (over 60), previous smoking (I

guess 3 pk/day for 30 years qualify) and family HX (my 60y/o sister has been

Dxed with it and Dr. W. and I talked about it 6-8 mos. ago). Guess PCP is

paying attention (should have known, women never forget!)

And a special thanks to Dr. Grim for suggesting " Uptodate " ! Now I don't have to

think about it until my next appt and we don't take up valuable appt. time! 15

minutes well spent!
