Guest guest
Hi. Things advance towards what " attention " you give it? Your children and students deserve your attention, and where they don't get it one way, they'll get it another... or at least try to I think it's safe to say. Autism is particularly " not " so marked of that phenomena (from my experience;) but more of a bent toward " avoiding " our attention it very much seems to me.. . Autistic kids need attention perhaps more than anyone of all, of attention behavior analysis? ... " Singularly, " you needn't do more than that, perhaps, of giving your children the attention s/he needs and deserves, thereof... If you had to break it down to " one " thing, of understanding more? Sure, why not. I read a report a while back about the results of several different interventions in a study that seemed to suggest that all of them worked with most students, " fairly well, " with all having one thing in common, and that was of their giving the child their near undivided attention. ABA tends to succeed the most because it is most intense to that, (?) of " individual " " attention, " makes a lot of sense to me. From attention, for understanding more, (what else?) comes pretty much everything else we could surmise, of simplifying, for those who need something quick, and simple? ... Start with your child with that, rewarding better behavior (you probably should chart that, of measuring it...) and probably, from doing " that, " not much if ever having to deal with bad behavior, (not of a " sensory " issue) thereof? Then all you have to get up to speed on (of curriculum, perhaps) is what constitutes " better " behavior, as related to the child's interests, of needs, to all that " you " understand, thereof.. That could keep you busy (into the night, perhaps) when your child is sleeping or doing what s/he is doing for his or her researching, and fun, or rest, on " their " own.. . You want them to be doing that, too, especially. (As long as you know somewhat what they are doing in that respect, of measuring/charting it? Hello.. .)+ *Another* sense of it, to " really " plug into when you have nothing else (or, perhaps " too " much else?) going on.. . Mike, I ABA ABA for Understanding More It's always nice to see important things put into a " nutshell, " in as many " different " ways as that can be done, for any of all of us who could benefit from that? .. . And that, of us doing that, when the kids have been " attended " to, of course.. . ! If you have to " measure " something measure how much " you " attend to your child for the results you get, thereof? .. . There you go. The rest should follow from that.. . Just my sense of it.
